  Why?

  Because I found it in a shop in my new home of San Francisco and was it excited to get some due to it being completely sold it out (ironically) in Scotland.

  Verdict

  The whisky has a really interesting taste: initial peat and smoke associated with a standard Ardbeg and but with a stronger hit due to the extra alcohol (49%) and age. There was also overtones of bourbon and a sour/fruity finish that both add a twist to make this a bit special.

  Finally picked up a bottle of this. Its on the tiny whisky menu at my favourite restaurant which often marks anniversaries/birthdays with my girlfriend and tastes pretty damn brilliant. As you can imagine, its one of my favourites.
